VIEW PROJECT
My focus was on accounting and tax-related products, where we worked in design squads with a shared goal to simplify complex financial processes for small business owners. Our goal was to make accounting and tax tasks feel less daunting by designing intuitive, efficient, and engaging interfaces that improved the overall user experience.
I worked within the constraints of Sage’s extensive design system, Carbon, collaborating with top researchers, content strategists, and accessibility experts to ensure our accounting product met WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
My primary responsibility was developing the VAT and tax compliance segment of the Sage web platform.
One of my proudest contributions was introducing a mobile-first approach to our small design squad. I also leveraged my motion design skills to transform what could be a dry, complex experience into engaging, rewarding interactions.
Drawing on my understanding of brand, I supported the team in translating the proposed rebrand into a cohesive, user-friendly digital experience. This involved exploring how key brand elements could be adapted for digital interfaces while maintaining clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
A significant part of this effort was the early development of an updated motion design system, inspired by the bold, minimalist illustrative style of the incredible Magoz. His work played a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of the rebrand, and I helped integrate that aesthetic into interactive digital components. By incorporating motion, we not only reinforced the brand’s personality but also enhanced usability, creating intuitive and engaging experiences for users.
